Cancel the commute. Skip the crowds. Train exactly how you want, when you want, in a premium, climate-controlled fitness sanctuary located just steps from your back door.

Reclaim Your Workout

A Commercial-Grade Facility at Home

Driving to the gym in the rain, waiting for equipment, dealing with overcrowded locker rooms—these are the friction points that derail fitness goals. Building a gym inside your main house often means sacrificing a valuable bedroom or dealing with noise echoing through the floorboards.

A Pendle Pod garden gym solves these problems instantly. By placing your fitness studio in the garden, you create a dedicated, focused environment separated from the distractions of home life, without losing any interior square footage.

We do not build standard sheds. We engineer robust, house-quality structures designed specifically to withstand the rigors of heavy training, year-round.

Built For Strength

Engineered for High Performance

A garden gym requires specific structural and environmental considerations. Here is how we tailor our builds for the ultimate training experience.

Reinforced Flooring

Standard shed floors cannot handle deadlifts. We upgrade our foundation systems and tighten floor joist centers, utilizing heavy-duty structural boarding topped with commercial-grade rubber gym matting.

Climate Control & Aircon

Workouts generate serious heat. We offer split-system air conditioning units that provide rapid cooling during intense summer sessions and efficient, cozy heating on freezing winter mornings.

Advanced Ventilation

To combat humidity, sweat, and condensation, we integrate high-performance trickle vents in the glazing and can install mechanical extractor fans to keep the air fresh and the room dry.

Acoustic Dampening

Crank the music without disturbing the neighbors. We offer acoustic upgrades featuring high-density mineral wool, resilient bars, and acoustic plasterboard to significantly reduce sound transmission.

Optimized Headroom

Need space for overhead presses, pull-ups, or a tall cross-trainer? While our standard pods are 2.5m externally, we can design taller, bespoke structures tailored to your specific equipment (subject to planning).

Gym-Spec Electrics

Treadmills, Pelotons, TVs, and sound systems require reliable power. We install high-capacity consumer units, abundant floor-level sockets, and hardwired internet lines for seamless streaming.

Got Questions?

Garden Gym FAQs

Answers to the most common technical questions about building a home fitness studio.

Can the flooring really support heavy weights and gym equipment?

Yes. When designing a garden gym, we specifically upgrade the structural integrity of the base. We install reinforced timber floor joists at tighter centers and use heavy-duty structural OSB boarding. This ensures the floor can handle power racks, treadmills, and heavy deadlifts without flexing or causing damage to the sub-frame.

Is there enough ceiling height for overhead presses or cardio machines?

Our standard garden rooms are designed to fall under the 2.5m Permitted Development height restriction, providing around 2.1m to 2.2m of internal headroom. For most users, this is sufficient. However, for clients requiring more height for activities like Olympic weightlifting or tall elliptical machines, we can design taller bespoke pods. Please note, exceeding 2.5m may require full planning permission depending on your boundary lines.

Will the garden gym be too hot in summer and freezing in winter?

Not at all. Every Pendle Pod is wrapped in thick PIR rigid insulation (floor, walls, and ceiling) combined with double glazing to maintain a stable internal temperature. Furthermore, for gym environments, we highly recommend adding a split-system air conditioning unit to your package. This provides rapid, powerful cooling in the summer and highly efficient, cozy heating in the winter.

How do you handle ventilation and humidity in a home gym?

Proper ventilation is critical in a fitness space to prevent condensation and odors. We integrate high-quality, adjustable trickle vents in all our windows and doors as standard. Additionally, we can install specialized mechanical extractor fans or full climate control systems to keep the air fresh and moisture-free during intense workouts.
