Are your garden rooms suitable for year-round use?
Yes, absolutely. Our garden rooms are built using house-grade construction methods, incorporating premium PIR rigid insulation in the floor, walls, and roof, alongside high-performance double glazing. Whether it is a freezing January morning or the height of a July heatwave, they are designed to maintain a comfortable internal climate.
Do I need planning permission for a garden room?
In the vast majority of cases, our garden rooms fall under 'Permitted Development' rights and do not require planning permission. We specifically design our standard models to stay under the 2.5m maximum height threshold required by these rules. We will comprehensively assess and confirm your exact planning status during our free site survey.
Can a garden room be used as a guest bedroom?
Yes. If you intend to use the garden room as primary sleeping accommodation on a regular basis, specific building regulations may apply. Our Premium tier designs can be fully tailored to meet these strict regulations, including the integration of en-suite bathrooms, correct ventilation, and necessary fire-safety measures.
What maintenance does a garden room require?
Very little. We purposefully select high-quality materials designed for longevity. For example, our EPDM rubber roofs have a 50+ year expected lifespan with zero maintenance. Depending on your choice of exterior cladding (such as Western Red Cedar), you may choose to apply an occasional UV-protective oil to preserve its rich color, or simply let it weather naturally to a beautiful silver-grey.
